I'm not sure how long I can do this...

What a stunning photo!! Sorry the library is turning nazi!
wow, that does seem a bit intrusive. What type of personal info does vox and flickr have, is it's just a name right? they can find that out if they want to anyway. I guess it would just be someone logging in that would worry me the most. Is it just the personnel, or patrons as well? sigh....
[this is good]
Him do I see you shopping for a laptop with wireless connections?
Gold star comment, dear firend! Yes, I'm more seriously seeking employment with the goal of acquiring a laptop with wireless connectivity. The Library's Public Use of Internet Policy is changing almost daily, within the past week there have been at least 4 different changes. Now they are at the point where policy is being authoritively conveyed to all patrons. When a patron logs on, warning notices are displayed in a pop up and no further progress can be made until one clicks 'I accept' . Which produces another pop up that clearly states some of the aspects of the Library's Public Use of Internet Policy that they are willing to tell you about. Again, no further progess can be made until the patron clicks 'I accept'. No one has a choice. No one can know what is really meant, as the verbage is so open to interpretation that its fundamentaly meaningless. Kinda like signing a blank check and if you don't do as they say, you can't use the computer. And its clear they are tracking every keystroke...every web site...and every email account. Sure, weather they have the resoources to follow up on the infomation gathered is another thing. But this policy , I believe, is squarely against the peace and dignity of the people. In a word...it sucks. Our freedoms are willfully, forcefully and with serious intent being denied. Sorry to rant, I just hate becoming a victim of pretended self rightiousness.
True, and a warning sign just popped up informing me that I only have 10 mins left. The logo on the pop up identified itself as ' PC Cop ', go figure. Nazism, with a badge...
Lavender, its not the quality of information that's important. Its the fact that they can take your personal idenity with force and use it for whatever reason they manufacture. Because its securtiy, and due to the nature of security, the Supreme Court has ruled that organizations like homeland security are not required to disclose the reasons of their interests. In other words, they can take information from you without your knowledge and use it any way they wish and are not required to tell you why or even how they obtained whatever information they claim to have.
yes, I understand how messed up that all is, when all they have to do is ask nicely and I would answer all questions they may have. Haha! I hear you it is a political thing. There have been libraries that will not disclose the wanted information, like who checks out certain "red flag" books.

Yikes, now that is tight! Then why even have internet access of you have such controls! I know at work I'm tracked on the web, but I only check emails and cnn and I do use the internet for research for myself and my job.

I'm like you I don't like my freedom's compromised. Take care dear friend and good luck with your next quest...the lap top...that could be just as much fun as getting a new camera!

I don't have wireless nor do I have a laptop...yet!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Yeah, but I guess what bothers me the most is the potential for harm. I agree, to some extent, that if some event could happen, it will happen. Most people see the potential exists but their reasoning is railroaded by their hopes that it will not. Most people hope that everything will be all right. Yet each day brings with it things that are built upon yesterday's acceptence. And further erosion of trust is or becomes the order of the day. Today they say they will build a fence across Texas, they sell it to the people as a way of preventing drugs and all kinds of negative things from happening. The people want to believe. What happens tomorrow when the people realize that the fence is designed to keep the people inside? Its a way for the government to incarcirate the people. Macavelli wrote some interesting insights on how to control a nation through the application of fear. The operative word is control and carries with it the absolution of freedom. This is what bothers me.
I agree, I watched a documentary a few months ago about a guy, who was just some guy who lived in the middle east, he made a joke about killing tony blair. But someone overheard and he and his brothers were brought to a terrorist prison for a long time. It was nuts, this could happen to anyone I guess. It happened to him. I understand what you are saying. That fence, well it turns out it is cutting off a lot of people's back yards, not the back yard they once knew and loved, is Mexico. Haha!
Yeah, a laptop sounds like a good idea to me. Especially as there isn't anything else I can do about this Library security nonesense. But I suppose I'm not the only one who is considering some kind of work around. Probably a lot of people who are forced to consider going underground, or whatever its called.---But its sad you know when a homeless vetern who swore to protect and defend this nation againist any enemies foriegn or domestic should be watched like a vulture while he starves to death on the streets of the country he is willing to die for.---Yeah, well, I probably need to concentrate on doing what I can do rather than bitching about things i've no control over. Yeah, a laptop sounds good to me....hope you have a good weekend as well, and hope you let your Winn take you for a ride in the mountains or something....:-)
Yeah, I've heard stories like that...and worse! People just don't realize that a fence has two sides. The library is about to close so I want to wish you a good weekend. Maybe Monday will bring with it a better mood and we can get back to what's really important...learning how to be a better photographer! :-)

thank you for your nice wishes..tomorow I'm off to a group ride. I rode Winn today and he was wonderful and he will be even better tomorrow. I took some photos of him today and I'll take some more tomorrow. He is a very handsome boy!

Dragon it is sad that your were willing to give your life for this country and now find yourself homeless. But I believe that you have the strength to take this turn in your road and make it a new begining!

Take your time to find your new road as it is the one you have been seeking.

[this is good]
